Why blog when there's no-one reading?

Like many bloggers, I record my thoughts out here in cyberspace in the hope that someone will read and benefit from them. But that's all that's happening. We're all writing away, but no-one ever reads our gems! This is the ultimate implementation of write-only memory.

Is there anything we can do about this, or is blogging a waste of time?
